Cookies
Last updated 13 October 2026
This site sets one cookie of its own, and keeps your basket in your browser (see below). Everything else you might see comes from Cloudflare, which protects the site and its forms. The analytics tool, Umami, sets no cookies at all, and loads only if you choose "Accept all".
The cookies
| Name | Purpose | Set by | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
pb_consent | Remembers your choice in the cookie bar (all, necessary or rejected), so the bar does not reappear on every page. Kept even when you reject everything, because it is the record of that refusal. | This site | 180 days | Strictly necessary |
__cf_bm | Tells people from automated traffic, so the site can be protected from bulk scraping and abuse. | Cloudflare | 30 minutes | Strictly necessary |
cf_clearance | Records that a security challenge was passed, so you are not asked again straight away. | Cloudflare | Up to 1 year (set by Cloudflare) | Strictly necessary |
Turnstile cookies | Set only when you use a form, by the Turnstile challenge that keeps the forms free of automated submissions. | Cloudflare (challenges.cloudflare.com) | Session | Strictly necessary |
Your basket, kept in your browser
The names you add to the basket are kept in your browser's local storage under pb_basket, so the basket follows you from page to page and is still there if you come back. It holds only the names you added and the time of your last change. It is never sent to the site or to anyone else, and it is forgotten after 30 days without a change. This is strictly necessary for the basket you asked for, so it needs no consent; "Empty the basket" on the basket page removes it at once, as does clearing this site's data in your browser.
Your currency is kept in the page address (for example ?cur=EUR), not in cookies or browser storage.
The cookie bar
- Accept all loads Umami, the cookieless analytics tool, and records your consent in
pb_consent. - Necessary only records that you refused anything optional. Nothing optional is ever loaded.
- Reject all does the same, and the site keeps only the record of your refusal, so the bar does not return. No other cookie is set by the site.
- Closing the page without choosing counts as no consent: nothing optional loads.
To change or withdraw your choice, use . Withdrawing deletes pb_consent.
Using the site with cookies switched off
You can block every cookie in your browser and still use the site fully: browsing, search, the currency selector, the basket, the comparison view and every name's page need no cookie. The cookie bar will simply appear on each visit, because there is nowhere to remember your answer.
Only the forms (enquiries, the newsletter and "Watch this name") depend on the Turnstile challenge, which may not work with all cookies blocked. If a form will not send, write to the site email address instead.
