The story
Merci is among the first French words anyone learns, and among the easiest to mean. MerciGel builds a skincare brand on it. Most names in the sector promise a future: younger, firmer, brighter. This one says thank you, which is rarer and, in its way, more confident.
The pairing does a lot of quiet work. Merci carries the polish of a country that treats moisturiser as seriously as a wine list. Gel is the texture of modern skincare and of the hyaluronic fillers used in aesthetic clinics. Together they describe the product and the mood: a treatment you leave grateful for rather than corrected.
The logo is drawn in fine teal line, a figure with arms raised rising out of lotus petals inside a circle. Beneath the wordmark runs 'Heal Body. Calm Mind. Elevate Soul.' That is a wide brief for a cosmetics house, and the name is soft enough to carry it. In the concept images the brand works in two rooms. In a white treatment room, a practitioner in a monogrammed tunic gives a client a gel injection while the logo watches from the wall and the range waits on the counter beneath it. On a marble counter, the range lines up in frosted glass and white tubes: a cleansing gel, a hydrating gel moisturiser, a brightening serum, a renewal night gel, a daily sun shield.
A name this gentle suits a business that wants luxury and conscience in the same jar: refillable glass, traceable ingredients, a clinic door on a quiet street. It would look well on a gift box, too, the kind someone is actually glad to receive.
Why it works
Gratitude is an unusual register in a sector that mostly sells correction, and it gives the brand warmth without losing polish. The French word lends luxury at no cost in clarity, since nearly every customer already knows it. 'Gel' tells them what is in the jar.
